IEA Bioenergy Task 37 hold a meeting in Bangalore India. The meeting was hosted by National Team Leader for India, Harshad Velankar, at the campus of the R&D centre of Hindustan Petroleum Limited Corporation.
\nHPLC has a well equipped research facility – most interesting for our task with pilot plants for 2G bioethanol and biogas. The development HP Ramp shall help to deliver cost efficient ethanol for the targets which have been set by the government.<\/p>\n

The meeting was accompanied by a workshop. Three speakers from IEA Task 37 presented on the topic of economics and three speakers from India introduced the Indian situation of Biogas and biofuels to the audience. Reducing the costs, establishment of a functioning value chain including the organisation of access to the substrate are – with varying details – challenges all over the world. Agricultural structures need to be changed in order to achieve sustainable cultivation practice and higher yields. Biogas can here play a role in turning residues in energy and recirculating organic material and nutrient back on the land.<\/p>\n
